Matt Ilardo is a Brooklyn-based Emmy-winning editor and filmmaker with more than two decades of experience in television, documentary storytelling, and digital media.

Over the course of his career, Matt has edited and produced content for broadcast television, documentary films, and branded storytelling projects, including 17 years working on The Rachael Ray Show and helping launch Amazon Live. He has contributed to programs that have won seven Emmy Awards, including one personally awarded for editing.

Today, Matt focuses much of his work on documentary and conservation storytelling through Fauna Media, creating films for zoos, wildlife organizations, and nonprofits.

Matt also edits sizzle reels, trailers, and promotional films that help organizations pitch projects, attract audiences, and raise awareness for their work.

Matt is a New York City Marathon finisher, a Guinness World Record holder for the longest dodgeball game ever played, and the last person ever to win Super Mario 35, Nintendo’s online battle royale game.

The 2012 New York City “Run Anyways” Marathon

When Hurricane Sandy cancelled the 2012 NYC Marathon, runners still gathered in Central Park and ran four loops of the park, recreating the original course. I ran it to raise money for my cousin Basil, and made this thank-you video for everyone who donated. The top donor even got to choose the color of my new mohawk.
